Who They Are & Something Only The People Closest To Them Know:

In 2007, she was home with her children and 40 pounds overweight and not feeling very sexy. Her friend asked her to pole dance and she was not into it. She believed “good mommies don’t pole dance”. She decided to go and fell and in love with it!! Now she has an online academy that shows people how to pole dance for themselves.

Their Battle, Mentally Or Physically, They Fought And Came Out A Warrior:

Her first battle was feeling okay to be sexy. In your 20’s you feel free to be sexy. Then in her 30s and she started to have kids she felt that mom’s weren’t supposed to be like that. She had to learn to be okay with being sexy.

Warrior They Look Up To:

She looks up to her dear friend Layla Duvay. She did many Burlesque shows together, and she was very different, loud, lived against the grain, and loved life. She was diagnosed with brain cancer and still remain positive until the very end.

Heart Of The Interview:

Jane shares her transformation from an overweight mom that was ashamed of her body to a burlesque warrior.She talks about everything. She talks about the reaction in the community, how it transformed her body and life. Also, she gives great tips on how to overcome any body shame.

What Being A Warrior Means To Them:

Being a warrior means having courage, being willing to be different, taking risks, and standing above the crowd.

She has learned that she is fully capable of handling anything.

The reason why I got into fitness sucks.

I wish the reason why I got into fitness was because I had 50 pounds to lose, I lost it, and now I wanted to help others do the same.

That's not my story.

For the longest time, I shared with people that I did have weight to lose and I did lose it so LOOK I can help you do the same

But I felt like a fitness fraud.

My story into fitness is complex, f***ed up, and hard to tell at times. But if it helps even 1 person use fitness to change their shitty situation then it was worth it.

And...it has.

Now I'm going to preface this by saying that I'm not sharing any tips in this blog. Instead, I'm sharing the raw, unedited chapter of my story. It is only one chapter because to tell it all you would be reading for hours.

My goal..my hope...is for you to see my heart,

maybe place yourself in my story,

and learn how to use fitness to change your life.

Terry Hagio is online fitness coach and has been a vegan for the past 5 years. Also, she is deathly scared of snakes. She had a bad experience with a snake when she was younger and it changed her perspective on life.

When she was 21, a week before she graduated from college her dad passed away. It was completely out of blue. No one expected it. She was supposed to be really happy celebrating this huge milestone and instead she was mourning the loss of her father. It was a hard situation and she learned how to come out of it stronger.

She looks up to her cousin Dana because she lives life to the fullest.

His biggest warrior battle was changing his health. Up to the age of 25, he ate a lot and wasn’t as healthy. That was when he decided to run marathons and it transformed him. He fell in love with running, the goals he set, and more!

Dean Karnazes, an ultramarathoner, and someone that had a transformative experience. He reminds Jeff that he can do more. He strives to find his limit. He is famous for running 50 marathons in 50 days.

Heart Of The Interview:

He spends his day figuring out how to help people hack their routines. He discovered through marathon training how to hack his day and making the most of your day, passion, and life!! By hacking away early daily, he discovered how to help others achieve more and faster. Your first step to waking up early is to find a reason that is powerful. Start your day with something you are passionate about. In this interview, Jeff discusses how to structure your life to make your goals possible.

Mandi has been a beauty expert for past 10 and an online business coach. After she started doing beauty tutorials online she started building a following. She started teaching other entrepreneurs how to start their own tutorials and from there it grew. Also, she is married to her high school sweetheart.

Their Battle, Mentally Or Physically, They Fought And Came Out A Warrior:

Back in 2008ish she was a very different person. She had a very unhealthy habit of smoking, drinking, and was overweight. She started stressing out, having negative thoughts, and became depressed. One day she discovered she couldn't breathe. She thought it was an asthma attack but it was a panic attack. She continued to suffer from panic attacks for the next year. She quit smoking and learned to overcome her mental and physical battles without the help of medication. She knew that this would make her stronger in the future.

Warrior They Look Up To:

Her amazing business coach Tiffany Bymaster has helped her gain confidence to start her own business and take chances.

Heart Of The Interview:

When she thinks of beauty she doesn’t think of beauty on the outside but rather the beauty on the inside. There are 2 parts of beauty-inside and outside. Your inside beauty comes from your confidence. One of the things Mandi did to gain confidence was journaling. She feels this helped her the most in her days of anxiety. Mandi goes over all this and more in this episode. She talks about destressing and gaining confidence through her quick simple tips.

I brought my amazing fiance back on the show today to talk about something that I get asked about a lot. Oftentimes at the gym, I run into people who say “Your fiance must love working out with you!”, to which my response is “not really.” You see, Chris and I are opposites. He enjoys a day of watching his favorite tv shows while I enjoy a day of hiking and biking. In a lot of ways we are different and that’s what makes our relationship so strong. However, we went through many battles where I wanted him to workout and he didn’t want to. He doesn’t like working out and that was a frustration in our relationship for years. In today’s episode, Chris gives 3 tips to help you motivate your partner, friend, coworker, or family member to workout. I actually learned A LOT from this episode that I didn’t already know and I know you will too.

Lyndan and Vanessa are high school sweethearts that met at 16 and say they had a baby too young and got married too young. They almost got divorced but through the help of their church they didn’t. They fought for their marriage and now they are more in love than ever.

Warrior They Look Up To:

Their moms. Lyndan’s mom got into a car accident when he was 16 and was paralyzed from the neck down. Instead of crying and being mean she is still grateful for the gift of life. Vanessa’s mom came from Guatemala and had no money and worked her way up and never complained.

Heart Of The Interview:

Lyndan and Vanessa give amazing tips on how to remix your relationship and avoid battles that inevitably happen. The amount of information they share is crazy real and honest. You will definitely want to hear every part of it. One of their greatest advice is to learn how to communicate through therapy. Their next piece of advice is keeping on dating your spouse. Listen to the rest of interview to hear other great tips to revive a marriage or keep the spice alive in it.

Lyndan feels a warrior is someone who wants to be better and is constantly growing. To Vanessa a warrior is someone who overcomes battles and learning from their battles.

Lyndan’s advice to his son would be to listen to your wife, and to his daughter make sure your husband treats you right. Vanessa wants them to seek God with all their heart, mind, and soul.

She was a top figure competitor. She started her own fitness business called Sexy Fit that helps women all around the around. She is an amazing woman and incredibly sweet! I can’t wait for you to get to know her.

She fights inconsistency. As much as she has been a figure competitor and has worked out for years she still struggles with being consistent.

I have so many friends that make resolutions to start an exercise program or kick that bad habit.

You know what happens?

They start making excuses 3 days in

Or

Their bad habit is back by February.

It has happened to me too. I wish it wasn’t true but it is.

That’s why I decided resolutions are overrated. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. To me, insanity and resolutions go hand in hand, which is why I am going to tell you to stop making resolutions and start making deadlines.

Why I Believe This Person Is A Warrior:

Is one of my saving warriors. She saved me during a time in my life when I was drowning. During my craptastic month in 2015, she heard me talking about my many, many issues I was dealing with. She immediately texted me and asked how she could help. Before we finished our texting conversation she had already scheduled housekeepers to come to my house and clean it the next day. She did this while living 3000 miles away from me.

I tell you this story because you can clearly see Melissa’s heart in her actions. She truly wants to help people and doesn’t want anything in return, that’s why I believe she is a warrior.

Who They Are & Something Only The People Closest To Them Know:

Melissa started going to therapy in 2008 because of a major heartbreak and fell in love with it. That began her journey that led to her book now. She watches Friends before bed.

Their Battle, Mentally Or Physically, They Fought And Came Out A Warrior:

After all her years of bad relationships, she didn't realize that she was dating the wrong guy over and over again. She dated one guy 3 different times and realized she needed to make a change.

Warrior They Look Up To:

She looks up to her mom immensely. Her mom had to get a divorce from her dad and had to start over. She ended up starting from ground 0 and built herself and her girls up. It was a warrior decision to leave a comfortable, bad situation to take control of her life and accomplish her dreams while raising a family.

Heart Of The Interview:

Before we dive deep into this interview Melissa asks for you to listen to this with an open mind especially if you are in a relationship. Melissa believes there are two people when you are dating, those that want attention and those that want love. Melissa calls the people that are always drawn to attention is called gumball. When you are dating or around a gumball person you can get wrapped up into this and get lost in it. You are giving your all to those relationships, but they aren’t getting all back. Melissa talks more about this, how to be aware of this, and what to do about if you are dating someone like this.

It’s about getting up every time you get beat down.

Her greatest lesson is to always choose to live your authentic life versus how society believes you should live.

Do you feel like you need 4 more hours in the day?

Does the thought of creating a to-do list freak you out?

Do you feel overwhelmed with your family crisis and deadlines that are all happening at the same time?

Today I want to take a break from writing about diet and fitness to talk to you about something that we all experience no matter how hard we try to avoid it and that’s STRESS.

The month of December is quite possibly the most stressful time of the year. Not only is the year ending, which may cause a bunch of end of the year deadlines at but it’s also supposed to be the “happiest time of the year”.

What does that include? It is full of…

  • -family get-togethers
  • -Christmas parties
  • -presents, buying, wrapping, giving

All those various activities take time and can cause STRESS trying to get it all done. On top of trying to get it all done some kind of family drama or friendship situation somehow arises leading to more STRESS that eventually causes the inevitable OVERWHELM.

That’ what I want to talk about today.

On average people gain 5-10 pounds during the holiday.

How does that make you feel?

Are your first thoughts...yep, that sounds right or that’s going to happen to me.

Do you resign yourself to the fact that you are going to gain weight during the holidays?

Do you fight it or accept it?

Do you think it’s inevitable?

Honestly, there are times when I really feel like it is inevitable.

Holiday weight gain is avoidable, but it take you being honest with yourself.

What are you eating for Thanksgiving?

Do you have one dish that you look forward to all year?

  • Is it...mom’s turkey?
  • Is it...your aunt’s casserole?
  • Is it...your grandma’s pumpkin pie?

Maybe you are looking forward to all that and more!!

According the Calorie Control Council an average American consumes 4500 calories and 229 grams of fat on Thanksgiving.

That’s mind blowing crazy!!!

Did I get your attention yet?

There are several reasons why I believe this happens. Here are few of my theories

  1. The day is centered around food so it seems inevitable.
  2. Some of those dishes you only have once a year so if you don’t eat it then you will miss out.
  3. People suffer from “last meal” mentality.

You might be thinking what the heck is “last meal” mentality. It’s something I came up with to describe when people gorge themselves at a meal that they will never have ever again.

Here are a couple signs and symptoms to know if you have suffered from this…

  • you go back for extra servings when you are already stuffed beyond belief
  • you know going into the meal you are going to overeat
  • you already have excuses or justifications if guilt starts to seep into your head

Does any of that sound familiar?

Most people that suffer from this wake up the next day feeling disgusting, guilty, and possibly regretting it. Also it oftentimes leads to greater weight gain because it goes into the “F*** it” mentality (wanna know about that then click here) or reverses any progresses you may have had.

The “last meal” mentality usually hinders people more than helps people.

Now, I’ve already wrote a blog on how to avoid eating a lot at parties. If you want to learn some tips and tricks to avoid that then click here.

I want to talk to you about what to do if you are suffering from “last meal” mentality.

Before I get started I want you to know I suffer from this too. It happens to me on Thanksgiving, Christmas, my birthday and other holidays. These tips originated because I needed them and then I started sharing them with others when I saw they had the same problem.
